The European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE) represents national societies of endoscopy in Europe, the Mediterranean and North Africa. Currently the ESGE is comprised of 44 gastrointestinal societies (ESGE National Member Societies). The ESGE is run by the Governing Board, comprised of seven senior officers and six councillors.
The World Endoscopy Organization is a non-profit umbrella organization covering 3 geographical zones: Asia-Pacific (APSDE), Europe/Mediterranean (ESGE) and the Americas (SIED). For more than 50 years, WEO has led the promotion of high quality and safe endoscopy worldwide, through training, education and research. WEO is based in Munich, Germany.
